banana bread blogging
Yesterday was one of the days I just went. I really enjoyed that. I found this bakery here I thought I lost. They make the best banana bread ever. One soft and wonderful piece costs about $0.60. I have no idea how much a similar thing would cost in America. What dawned on me when I found the bakery was it was the same place I had found before and had the same thing. I could not remember where it was in the city so I just walked yesterday and stopped at the display case with the fresh baked goods. There it was! Cambodia makes some of the best breads and pastries ever. Prices are always what they are here. I’ve gotten used to things just being the price they are. Like even $0.50 draft beers. It used to be in Phnom Penh along the riverside, there were these little bars and cafes that offered that. Long gone to the likes of Starbucks and food court malls. Down some of the side streets emanating from Sisowath Quay there are still some. Must go look.
It’s the same with coffee places here which I really appreciate. I most often go to Khmer places because I just enjoy their vibes more. This morning since I’m writing coffee already I will take the blog along for a trip to LaLatte Coffee I think. It’s a nice and eclectic little spot I enjoy immensely so I will go and enjoy. You can vicariously join me as I meander between words and maybe a photo.
Now it’s coffee time here. Lately I have not been very happy here in the house. I’ve waited impatiently to leave. There’s something about the place that sets me off. So most days its this wait with morning coffee to leave. Yesterday to get a tuktuk downtown and enjoy the coffee and then the banana bread. Today to go here in our neighborhood sorta kinda.
Anyways, see you for coffee thoughts at a favorite little spot that’s a nice walk.
Coffee, thoughts, writing
Almost made it to Lalatte. Instead stopping at a new place I’ve seen a few times. 28 coffee just down the street from Lalatte. Nice place to sit. No banana bread to be seen. That’s ok. There’s always a tomorrow to do that.

I started the morning earlier than I like. These days I am tired earlier so I sleep earlier. Thus I wake up earlier. There’s a sleep logic to that I guess. I don’t like it much. I also decided to take a break from drinking beer. I enjoy it very much but it plays with the same sleep logic in a bad way. The biggest thing is I don’t feel like walking where I’d like to go the next day.
I think this is baked. Maybe warm. It’s time for this bear to blog.
